On behalf of Wiltshire County Council and also colleagues in the Wiltshire Primary Care Trust, I am pleased to announce the beginning of the formal consultation period for the Review of Working with the Voluntary and Community Sector.  I enclose the report for your comments and suggestions.  The recommendations in this report provide us with real opportunities for joint working and will, I hope, greatly improve the way we do business for the benefit of the people of Wiltshire.

 

The review looks at how we work together with the voluntary and community sector in Wiltshire. The purpose of the review is to improve the way we do business together, strengthen the Compact in Wiltshire and to look at new ways of working including the “shopping, giving and investing” model. The consultation period will run from March until the end of June 2008. 

 

There are two ways in which you can give you views on the recommendations in the report.

 

Questionnaire Survey

 

You can do this by completing the questionnaire survey (attached below).  Please return this form in the self addressed envelope or email your responses to andrewjack@wiltshire.gov.uk.

 

Consultation events

 

In addition to the questionnaire survey, there will be two main events as detailed below.  You will only need to attend one of the main events as they will follow the same agenda.

 

Kennet, West Wiltshire, North Wiltshire

 

This event will be held on 16^th April form 11.45 until 2.15pm at  Melksham Assembly Rooms.   A buffet lunch will be provided.  To register your place, please complete the form and return to Leanne Homewood at Wiltshire County Council, Bythesea Road, Trowbridge BA14 8JN.

 

South Wiltshire

 

This event will be held on 19^th May from 11.45 until 2.15pm at City Hall, Salisbury.  A buffet lunch will be provided.  Please complete the form and return to Jane Davies at Wessex Community Action, 42-46, Salt Lane, Salisbury to register a place.

 

Your local infrastructure organisation (CVS) may also hold smaller, local events to discuss the report and they will let you know about this.
