Collaborative Working

Thinking of working in partnership with others? Have a big idea but can’t deliver it on your own? We offer targeted support to groups interested in exploring collaborative work.

Collaborative Ideas Bank
This web-based resource is designed to create a space where voluntary organisations interested in exploring the possibility of collaboration can hook up with other groups working in a similar field. Simply “deposit” your idea to find other organisations doing similar work.

How Does It Work?
If you would like to post your Collaborative Idea on the webpage, simply contact DEVELOP. Your posting will be done in the most general terms, indicating what area you are working in, but not giving specific details about the project or your organisation.

For example if you would like to run pottery workshops for learning disabled children, we would post: Arts project for learning disabled children.

If you are interested in getting in touch with a group that has made a posting, you should contact DEVELOP. We will then forward your contact details to the group who has made the posting and they will get in touch with you directly.

Please note that DEVELOP are not responsible for arranging meetings or for facilitating the onward development of any collaborative ideas.

A Framework for Collaboration - commissioned by the West of England Consortium in March 2010, this document brings together those tools and resources which are particularly useful to offer a framework for collaboration. 'Starting with the needs of service users, we explor the internal and external factors that might drive an organisation towards collaboration; we look at the pros and cons of the different collaboration models; and finally a staged process for partnership building.' This pdf document contains live links throughout the text.  Download 'A Framework for Collaboration.'

Case studies are an invaluable source of information if you want to find out about the issues faced by other organsiations. They are particularly useful if you are thinking of collaborating, or in the middle of the process.  To access the case studies please visit the website.
