DEVELOP Board of Directors

Please find below a list of our current Trustees:

 

Lesley Bennett (Chair) - I have a B.A.Hons in English and a M.A McMaster University Canada. I have been a Customer Director for Wessex Water since 1995. I have a lot of voluntary and statutory sector experience, including: 1987-1997 Town Councillor Malmesbury (Mayor 1989-90), 1991-2003 N Wilts District Councillor, 1997-2001 Wiltshire County Councillor, Started Malmesbury Residents Association 1986. Set Up Malmesbury Preservation Trust 1987. First Chair of Malmesbury River Valley Trust1991-1997. Served on NWCAB Management Committee 1994-5, Chair of CVS North Wiltshire since 1997-2001, then from 2007 Chair DEVELOP. Chair of Luckington Community School since 1999 and, since 2006 Trustee (and Vice Chair) of Wiltshire Wildlife Trust.

James Moody -
I have a BA (Hons) Politics and Law and a CMI – Foundation in management certificate. I have worked at: Wiltshire County Council as a Youth Democracy Worker (2002-2004), Connexions Youth Involvement Officer (2005), Walsall Borough Council, Neighbourhood Partnership Officer. North Wiltshire District Council (2005-2008) as a Partnership Development Officer & lead officer for the council’s relationship with the voluntary and community sector. I am currently employed by Test Valley Borough Council as the Partnership Manager for the Local Strategic Partnership and corporate lead for Community Engagement. As well as being a Trustee on the Board of Develop I am also on the Board for Democracy for Young People (UK Youth Parliament) – 2001 – to present


Miriam Nicholls -
I have lived in Wiltshire for 30 years.  Before that I had worked for Citizens’ Advice Bureau (continued that for 38 years), Samaritans, a Church project housing single mothers and the Pony Club. I was at the first public meeting to explore the need for a CVS and have chaired it twice.  During that time I helped CVS to start Carers’ Support, Alzheimers Support, Housing Action for the Young, North Wilts Rural Churches Group.  I also helped to start (and still drive for) Malmesbury Link.  I represented CVS on the Community Council board and now represent Develop on the CIB board.  I was the Independent Chair of the WCC Social Services Review Panel hearing users’ complaints, and chaired the Wiltshire Advocacy Project during its 3 year life.  I now enjoy working as a Doorway volunteer. I represent Oaksey and am secretary of the Patients Participation Group, am treasurer of Oaksey.com website, chair Oaksey Youth Club and help with sessions, read with years 1 and 2 at school as well as involvement with the Church.


Patsy Newton - Patsy has followed a dedicated career path within the charity and public sector following the completion of her undergraduate Law degree and Masters in Public and Social Administration. She has over 10 years experience in social housing, including six years as Chief Executive at United Housing Association. Most recently Patsy has undertaken various Non-Executive Director positions within the NMS; Chair of Swindon and Marlborough NMS Trust and Non- Executive Director of Avon and Wiltshire Mental Health Partnership NMS Trust. Further to this Patsy has volunteered in a range of roles, as a mentor for young people in Gloucestershire and as a prison visitor to Holloway Prison in London. Patsy currently works with the Ethical Property Foundation managing the Property Advice Service in Bristol and the surrounding areas.

Becky Bell -
I have various O’levels, and ONC in Business Studies – Distinction and a HND in Business Information Technology – Distinction. I worked as a Business Analyst for the Co-op in Manchester for 10 years. Returned to work after having my children then started work for Ridgeway Care & Repair in 2002. I became Manger in 2004, since then have done various Management courses. Currently doing ILM qualification for Management.  I help out with various local voluntary groups in my spare time.


Bridget Davies-Robertson -
I have a BA Hons Cultural and Media Studies from the University of the West of England. I have been employed in Fundraising capacities for the following organisations: Barnardo’s, British Red Cross and Leonard Cheshire. My current role is Support Relations Manager within the Whale & Dolphin Conservation Society


Ian Maunders
-
A Strategically focussed Manager with experience across many sectors and a proven track record in building and managing teams, to deliver maximum benefit to all the stakeholders. With an MBA and Organisation and Methods background I have been at the forefront of introducing and managing change for both strategic and operational needs. I am currently employed as ISS National Services Manager for the The National Trust.

Samantha O’Sullivan- I have an LLB (Hons) upper second class (University of Southampton). Solicitors’ final examination (College of Law, Guildford), admitted as a solicitor 15 October 1989. Partner, Mogers (Bath) Jan 2006 – date, specialising in charity law, capital tax planning & trust law. I am a mbmers of the following: Law Society, Society of Trusts & Estates Practitioners, Charity Law Association, Charities Property Association. As well as Develop I am also a Trustee on the Eva Crane Trust and Sarum St Michael Educational Charity.
